Welcome to the Second Refit Day

We regret to inform you that due to the security and containment measures against COVID-19 implemented by the Government and in an exercise of responsibility, we must postpone the Second Refit Conference to safer dates. 

As soon as we have confirmed a new date we will let you know through our usual channels.


As we already announced, we resume the organization of the Second Edition of the Refit Conference together with the partners Varador 2000Barcelona Cluster Nàutic and TecnoCampus Mataró.

This new, more complete edition is divided into two different blocks:

First block - Situation, opportunities and challenges of the Repair & Refit sector

The first block will be held in the TecnoCampus Mataró (TCM2 building) and will project a broad vision of leading companies and administrations towards the refit sector as a maritime business.

The subject of the Ports Law and the opportunities that this plan has for Repair & Refit companies, led by one of the drafters of the Law, Mr. Lluís Recoder.

The data of the Repair & Refit industry will be discussed at the Round Table where personalities such as Joan Pere Gómez, manager of Ports of the Generalitat, Miquel Àngel Lliteras, shipyard Manager of MB92, Jesús Martínez, director of the Master in Logistics and Maritime Business of TecnoCampus and Xiqui Mas, CEO of Varador 2000.

During the coffee break and networking, the topics exposed between the professionals and students who will attend the event can be debated.

Subsequently, the topic of the Blue Economy, a commitment to innovation and sustainability that is undoubtedly the basis of the present and the future of the sector.

To study this topic in depth we will have experts such as Margarita Díez, manager of the Consortium Port of Mataró, Susana Sainz-Trápaga, responsible for the program Maritime Strategy of Catalonia 2030, Iolanda Piedra, President of the Maritime Cluster of Catalonia and executive member of PIMEC, Àngel Remacha, director of Promoció Econòmica de l 'City Council of Mataró i promoter of the project BlueAct i Joan Moret, Head of Negoci Nàutic d 'Hempel in Spain.

To end the TecnoCampus block, we will have the business vision of a good representation of the sector, such as Toni Tió, president of the Cluster Nàutic Barcelona, Marc de Antonio, CEO at By Antonio Yachts and Ivan Salas, as director of Iddes Yachts.

In this last Round Table the situation of the sector will be discussed in the hands of the most involved agents, the companies that are part of the nautical industry: shipyards, designers, engineers and cluster.

At the end of the first block, we will take the road to the second one that will take place in Mataró Marina Barcelona, about 800mts away from the TecnoCampus.

Second block - Innovation and novelties at the Nautical Refit

We will take advantage of the pleasant tour of the promenade to network with other professionals. Upon arriving at Mataró Marina Barcelona, a delicious catering awaits us that will liven up the views of the Marina.

We will open the second block with one of the innovations carried out within the sector that improves the maintenance and repainting systems for boats.

Andrés Llopis will be in charge of the presentation of the HullTent Inflatable Cabin, devised in the CPU and promoted by Daevi, which has the function of streamlining the painting process avoiding the displacement of boats and gives the option of having a mobile, removable and reusable paint booth, useful for any Refit company.

We will continue the exhibition of novelties presenting protection and sanding systems, by a specialist technician, Sergi Novo, who is also coordinator of the training cycle in Maintenance of pleasure boats at IES Miquel Biada, and Eli Martín, project manager Daevi that will present the latest news regarding research and development of improvements in temporary protections.

In this space you can touch the products presented and see a small demonstration.

We will continue with the challenges and opportunities that the sustainable development of composite materials can offer the refit sector, thanks to the collaboration of Maria Eugenia Rodriguez, Director of the Composites Technology Unit of EURECAT.

We will enjoy a coffee break to re-establish relationships with other professionals in the Networking space enabled in the Navy and we will continue with the new trends in topcoat that presents us JOTUN from José Ariza, executive technical support of the brand's megayachts.

We will continue with innovation in heat guns for systems hibernation and nautical packages hand in hand with the firm Express.

The closing of the day will come from the hand of Joaquim Arnó, president of the Maresme Tourism Promotion Consortium.

We will end the day with a new relational space where we will surely be able to discuss all the inputs received during the day.

This new wide format of the Conference will make it easier for companies to attend, if not the entire event, the spaces that are most interesting to them.
